Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet TÜRKDOĞAN was born in 1978 in the Ünye district of Ordu, Türkiye. After completing his primary education in Kumru, Ordu, he continued his education at Kartal Anadolu İmam Hatip High School, from which he graduated in the class of 1993.
He obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at 19 Mayıs University in 2003 and then completed his specialization in Emergency Medicine at Cumhuriyet University. Subsequently, he was a faculty member at Bezmialem Vakıf University, Adnan Menderes University, and the University of Health Sciences.
Between 2019 and 2022, he served as Deputy Director and Head of Emergency Health Services at the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate. During this period, he headed the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and took part in joint projects coordinated by the Istanbul Governorship in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay), the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), and the World Health Organization (WHO). Additionally, he contributed to the management and organization of the “Istanbul Earthquake Disaster Plan Symposium,” which was conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the WHO, covering all eighty-one provinces of Türkiye. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Emergency Medicine Foundation.
Throughout his academic career, he has published a total of 116 national and international research papers and has presented ninety-one papers at conferences.
While serving as the Chief of Education at the Emergency Medicine Clinic of Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, University of Health Sciences, he was appointed as the Rector of Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University by Presidential Decree No. 2023/337, in accordance with Article 13 of Law No. 2547 and Articles 2, 3, and 7 of Presidential Decree No. 3, upon the decision of President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN on August 1, 2023.
Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet TÜRKDOĞAN is proficient in English and has an intermediate command of Arabic. He is married and has one child.
