
In the ‘Endodontics Science Day’ event organised by ALKU Dentistry Student Community with the wide participation of academicians and students, valuable information on current approaches in the field of endodontics, dental traumas and root canal treatments were shared.
Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) continues to progress and develop in every field while continuing its activities for special days. Endodontics Science Day, organised by ALKU Dentistry Student Community, was held at Alev Alatlı Conference Hall. The event was held with the participation of ALKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu, ALKU Faculty of Dentistry Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akın, Akdeniz University Faculty of Dentistry Endodontics Department Head Prof. Dr. Kürşat Er, as well as academicians and students. In the event, current developments and innovative treatment approaches in the field of endodontics were discussed, while students came together with academicians who are experts in their field and gained valuable information.
VICE RECTOR BAYRAMOĞLU: ‘ENDODONTICS IS AN IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE FIELD’
Emphasising that endodontics is an extremely important and valuable branch of dentistry, Vice Rector Bayramoğlu said, ‘In this field, which is of great academic importance, the sharing of scientific developments by experts with us allows us to contribute to our students by increasing our knowledge, skills and experience. We express our sincere thanks to the student community for organising this meaningful event. As ALKU, we find such academic events extremely valuable and we always continue to support them. We are very happy to be involved in such organisations that contribute to scientific development.’
DEAN AKIN ‘THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE GREAT SUCCESSES IN THE FUTURE’
In his speech at the event, ALKU Faculty of Dentistry Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Akın emphasised that endodontics is one of the basic fields of dentistry and said, ‘Endodontics is one of the fundamental areas of dentistry and requires not only technical skills but also scientific curiosity and meticulousness. It is of great importance for all of us to follow the innovations in this field, to encourage information sharing and to strengthen colleague solidarity. Such events organised by student societies not only support academic development, but also contribute to the establishment of a strong communication network among colleagues. The importance our university attaches to scientific studies and the efforts of our students in this field are an indication that they will achieve great success in the field of dentistry in the future.’ Dean Akın concluded his speech by thanking the Dentistry Student Community and the participants.
‘WE AIM TO ORGANISE MANY SCIENTIFIC AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES’
Stating that the event was completed with great success, ALKU Dentistry Student Community President Sinem Seray Aran expressed: ‘We expected an intense participation and the fact that the interest was so great motivated us even more. The satisfaction of the participants is the biggest reward for us. We aim to organise many more scientific and social events for our members. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed to the event.’
ENDODONTIC SPECIALISTS SHARED THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
ALKU Faculty of Dentistry academician and also ALKU Dentistry Student Community Advisor Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Hatice Büyüközer Özkan shared detailed information on the right drug, right time, right patient perspective in her presentation on ‘Systemic Drug Use in Endodontics’. Subsequently, ALKU Faculty of Dentistry Dr. Lecturer. Prof. Dr. Tulin Dogan Cankaya, ALKU Faculty of Dentistry, discussed the subject of ‘Dental Traumas’ in all aspects and emphasised that dental traumas should be managed very well by dentists. Finally, Prof. Dr. Kürşat Er, one of the academicians of Akdeniz University, shared information determining the boundaries of endodontics in his presentation on ‘Treatment Tips for Teeth with Variable Root Canal Structure’. In the event, which was enriched with various presentations, important information was shared by experts in the field and case presentations were made. In the event, where scientific discussions and academic sharing stood out, the participants had the opportunity to gain both theoretical and practical knowledge throughout the day.
After it was stated that the first ‘Endodontics Science Day’ has taken an important place among the scientific events for dentistry students and will continue with new events that will include different branches in the future, the event ended with a photo shoot.
